Soooo I ‘ve been rather smitten by black grapes lately! Target has started carrying my favorite complete (Anthonys’) within the black grape selection and that I can’t get enough of them! They assert the darker the berry the healthier therefore I’m hoping these can eliminate the carton of Raspberry Cheesecake Gelato I’ve been smashing. No? Whatever!

I’ve had my share of recent black grapes and frozen black grapes therefore it absolutely was time to undertake one thing new with my new man (that’s what I decision my food crushes by the method. I’m not cheating on the hubs promise). Recent black grape ade on deck!!!

This black grape ade is therefore crisp, sweet and tart! it's a pleasant punch of recent grape flavor that's therefore distinctive paired with lemons. Simmering the grapes very helps the grape skins unharness it’s deep purple color therefore don’t skimp thereon step if you wish to own the prettiest color ade. Be happy to regulate the sugar and water to your feeling. I favor my lemonades terribly tart and sweet! I mean ….it’s lemonade!

Fresh Black Grape Lemonade

INGREDIENTS :
  • 4 cups seedless black grapes
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar divided
  • 7-8 cups cold water divided
  • zest of 3 lemons
  • Juice of 7 lemons about 1 cup

INSTRUCTIONS :
  1. In a large sauce pan add grapes, 1 cup water, 1 cup of sugar and lemon zest.
  2. Simmer over medium heat, mashing grapes as they soften.
  3. Once all the grapes have been mashed, let the mixture simmer gently for an additional 10-15 minutes so that the grape skins release more of its color.
  4. Remove from heat and strain, discarding the solids.
  5. Add grape mixture to a pitcher.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and remaining cold water and sugar.
  7. Taste and adjust the water and sugar to your liking.
  8. Refrigerate until chilled. (This tastes bolder the next day)
  9. Serve over ice and enjoy!
